1. Different uses
Separation funnel: a device for solid-liquid or liquid-liquid reaction. The amount of the added liquid, the size of the reaction rate, the material separation and purification are controlled, and the two immiscible liquids formed after extraction are separated.
Long-necked funnel: A long-necked funnel is a kind of funnel, which is mainly used to add liquid medicines at any time when solids and liquids react in conical flasks. In general, a separatory funnel can also be used instead.
2. Different structure
Separation funnel: including the bucket body and the bucket cover that covers the upper mouth of the bucket body. A piston with a three-way structure is installed at the lower opening of the bucket body, and the two-way connections of the piston are respectively connected with the two lower pipes. It is practical to use, which can facilitate the control of the experimental operation process and reduce the labor intensity. When the amount of liquid to be separated is large, the two liquids in the bucket can be simultaneously flowed to the lower pipe by moving the tee of the piston.
It can be done in one go without changing the container. The main function of the separatory funnel in the junior high school stage is to control the rate of chemical reactions. The device is an experimental vessel with better functions in scientific research and chemical experiments.
Long-necked funnel: includes a bucket body and a glass long neck connecting the bucket bodies.
3. Use different
Long-necked funnel: The long-necked funnel is relatively long. The reason why the long-necked funnel must be inserted under the liquid level is to prevent the gas from escaping under the long-necked funnel when it is generated, that is, to form a liquid seal.
Separation funnel: There is a piston, which can control the flow of liquid. Because it can be closed, there is no need to reach below the liquid level.
